Approved Rules for Public Bodies
The Conflict of Interest Rules in O. Reg 381/07 apply to current ministry employees and to public servants employed in and appointed to public bodies. These rules are intended to be broad enough to cover most situations, but the Act allows public bodies to develop their own rules for the Integrity Commissioner’s review and approval.
The Commissioner’s view is that public bodies should submit their own rules for approval only if their unique mandates give rise to an increased likelihood of potential conflicts, and additional rules would more thoroughly address these circumstances.
To be approved, rules submitted by agencies must, at a minimum, meet the ethical standard set by O. Reg 381/07. Approved rules take effect once published they are published on this website.
The following public bodies have their own Conflict of Interest Rules. These rules are effective as of the date indicated and have been deemed to be approved by the Integrity Commissioner in accordance with section 59(2) of the Public Service of Ontario Act, 2006.
