Lynn Morrison has been named Integrity Commissioner, effective Tuesday, April 13, 2010.

Commissioner Morrison has worked for the Office of the Integrity Commissioner since its creation in 1988. She has been Acting Integrity Commissioner since 2007.

“I am very pleased to have the confidence of Ontario’s Legislative Assembly,” she said. “This Office has long been an ethics leader. I look forward to ensuring our work continues to encourage high ethical standards and public trust in government.”

A native of Toronto, Commissioner Morrison is the province’s fourth Integrity Commissioner. “I had the privilege of working closely with my predecessors, and learned a great deal about creating and sustaining an ethical culture,” Commissioner Morrison said.

The appointment runs for a five-year term.

About the OIC

The Office of the Integrity Commissioner has five key responsibilities:
- Members’ Integrity
- Public service disclosure of wrongdoing (whistle-blowing)
- Expenses review for Cabinet Ministers, Opposition Leaders, and 22 of Ontario’s largest agencies
- Ministers’ staff ethical conduct
- Lobbyists registration

An Officer of the Legislative Assembly, the Integrity Commissioner is independent of government.
